Afternoon tea in London
Afternoon tea is served at the table: finger sandwiches, scones with clotted cream and jam, and a stand of small cakes and pastries. Tea and coffee are topped up as you go, and most places offer a glass of prosecco or a free-flowing upgrade. It is seated and relaxed, which makes it one of the easiest parts of a weekend to plan for a group of mixed ages. If the bride's mum, aunts or grandmother are joining for one part of the weekend, this is often the one. Dietary requirements are handled when the booking is made, so collect them from the group well ahead.
